2011 WORLD FINAL AT SIMOLA IN SOUTH AFRICA
"The Eden District is keen to establish itself as a leading golf destination and hosting the finals of the World Corporate Golf Challenge will assist greatly in this goal. With great weather, a beautiful location and worldclass golf courses on offer, the future looks very bright for golf in the Eden District. Golf in general is a major contributor to South Africa's tourism economy, and the Eden District has proven its capability to confidently host major sporting events, which include golf, rugby, the hosting of 3 major teams for the Soccer World Cup, cycling, running and wheelchair racing amongst others. It therefore is a natural choice for such a prestigious event.

We therefore salute the region's status as arguably one of the most spectacular golf tourism destinations in the world. We are excited to welcome the world's best to the coastal region that boasts international awards for being the top golf destination in Africa and the Middle East.

GOLF COURSE: SIMOLA
Simola Golf & Country Estate is delighted to have been chosen as the host venue for the 2011 World Corporate Golf Challenge Final by the Eden District Municipality. The event brings together top corporate executives from around the world, who challenge for the coveted Championship Trophy.
The beauty of this tournament is the international exposure that Knysna, Simola and the Garden Route will receive and the hits received on the websites will bare testament to that. The various tourism bodies, including Cape Town Routes Unlimited, have endorsed the event and see the long term benefits the tournament will leave behind.
Despite it being a time of turbulence and uncertainty for the golfing fraternity and golf estates in particular, Simola continues to establish itself firmly as a premier and highly sort after golfing destination.
Simola promises the players, guests and sponsors a world class golfing and leisure experience that will long be remembered. The greens staff are working round the clock to ensure that the golf course is presented in top condition and that the players will find the course challenging but fair.
Simola is also proud to once again host the 2011 MTN SuperSport Shootout, the Knysna Hillclimb (both in May) and the Vodacom Origins of Golf in July 2011.
We would like to welcome everyone involved in the event to Simola and trust that many new and successful relationships will be forged and by the end of the tournament we will all be winners.
Golf at Simola
Keeping your head down at Simola can be a challenge; simply because the views around the course are awe-enspiring, and with this, it is clear to see why Simola takes its place as one of South Africa's premier golfing destinations. It's also the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course on the Garden Route, reflecting the maestro's philosophy of attuning the layout and design to the natural lie of the land.
The course offers challenging and rewarding golf amidst spectacular scenery. Set below the high ridges, it’s free from the wind that so often plagues coastal courses. Fairways flow with the natural undulating contours of the terrain and the unusual configuration of five par 5's and five par 3's adds a new dimension to the game. It's par for the course that every hole boasts exceptional views; either out across the Knysna Lagoon all the way to the Heads or over the picturesque Knysna River as it twists and turns through the valley below.
